A Bridal Shower

In mid-January, Kate received news that her paperwork had been approved. She only had three weeks left to work. She was thrilled she could stay home with Sarah before the wedding. She had so much packing and planning to do.

Her cast came off and she felt a whole lot better. The wedding would be simple, they would get married at the courthouse and then have a reception at the Scott Club. Spencer’s family was coming in for the wedding and some of them were staying with Mrs. P and some with Spencer.

An Heir Force Update

Hello Readers!

As Kate, Sarah, Spencer and Mrs. P prepare for Christmas, I am at a crossroads. I need to decide where I am going to go (and how) at the conclusion of Heir Force.

Some of my decisions include whether to stay here at the Heir Force site and turn it into more of a writer’s life blog, start a whole new blog and hope you move with me, or stop blogging altogether.

My next novel coming out in September, Cookie Encounter, is part of my Chance Encounter Inspirational Romance series and is not related to Heir Force at all, except for being a novel written by me. I could start a new blog using the Chance Encounter Romance theme, but am not sure that is what I want. I also have a part of me that includes scrapbooking, homeschooling, traveling and reading dozens of books a year that I could include in this new venture.

So, I will be thinking about this over the next several weeks and will continue to post Heir Force, but maybe not as regularly. Speaking of Heir Force, last week I had the opportunity to see a Scott Air Force Base K-9 demonstration and took pictures I will post later this week.  I was so excited!

Bear with me as I navigate the turns in my life and thank you for reading, and liking this blog. I am thankful for you. I welcome any input you may have, questions, suggestions, etc.

Kate Kisses Spencer!

Kate's rose from Spencer

Kate’s rose from Spencer

In the morning, Spencer came in with a long-stemmed pink rose for Kate. “It’s beautiful, thank you.” She gave him a quick peck on the cheek before putting the bud in a vase.

“Now, that’s what I’m talking about,” he said quietly.

The End is Near…Maybe

Sorry for the silence…I’ve been contemplating the ending of HeirForce, and then what to do next.  I don’t know if I will leave the site up, or get a new one under my name, or one under the series of books I’m working on in the Chance Encounter Romance line.  What to do?

Spencer Cooks for the Girls

An hour later Spencer took out the baked macaroni. He found a jar of apple sauce in the refrigerator and took that out, setting it on the table. He hoped the girls could eat, his own stomach growled as the scent from the baking casserole taunted him for several minutes. He set the table for three and poured three waters before checking on his patients.

Sarah sat up in the bedroom playing quietly with her puppy. Spencer thought she looked unsure of what she could or couldn’t do in her new environment.

Spencer Shops for Kate

Spencer left with the list in his hand and drove to the nearest grocery store. After noticing what little Kate had in her refrigerator, which was understandable after a trip, he added some things to the list. He was grateful Kate hadn’t dwelt on his earlier comment. He wished he could retract it, but it was too late now. He would really have to watch himself over the next few weeks. He pushed the cart toward the dairy and got the milk and eggs and turned toward the floral department. He added a small bouquet of daisies.

Getting Back into the Swing of Things

writing-prompts-2

Wow, time flies when you’re sick, you get behind, it’s Christmas season and you forget how to write.  Almost.  I find it way too easy to not write when there’s been a long stretch.  Which is disturbing as a writer.  But, it’s time to get back to Heir Force!

Driving Home

A short time later Kate sat with Sarah in the lobby while Spencer loaded the car. Kate pulled Sarah’s coat around her and zipped it up. The weather was still cooler for this time of year but at least it wasn’t snowing. The sun shone through scattered clouds, but did little to warm the temperature.

They should arrive a couple hours past dinner this evening after stops for meals and diaper changes. Kate double checked the diaper bag for necessities. She didn’t like using the changing tables in public places, not knowing how sanitary they were or weren’t. But she had no choice.
